BIT 2011 closes

Milan, 20th February 2011- The 31st edition of BIT - International Tourism Exchange concludes today.The 100 thousand visitors to the show and a further 100 thousand visiting Fuori Bit, animating the city with a calendar of events, photo exhibitions, musical , cultural and gastronomic events dedicated to discovering and comparing the cultures of 20 nations, confirms Bit's value as the only Italian event able to combine business and consumer requirements.

The richness and variety of sector operators, in addition to a public made up of experienced travellers, are the result of a strategy that has led BIT to evolve into a comprehensive business platform.

"The results of this year- comments Marco Serioli, Executive Director of Fiera Milano Rassegne, organiser of BIT - confirms the validity of the new strategy put in place, thanks to improvements to the process of match making, 13 thousand meetings were recorded in two workshops: Bit Buy Italy, dedicated to finding the best offers available in Italy for a selection of international buyers and Bit Buy Club, the only European event dedicated to the tourism association. "

The specialised area Bit Technology, presented a series of innovative products recognised as one of the most interesting factors of development of the sector. BIT has reserved particular attention to Travel Agents, who this year were able to access training on topics such as web marketing, trends, networking between agencies, social media, mobile tourism and sustainability, as well as in depth insights on international destinations. Upon completion of these events a calendar of seminars, debates and presentations for all operators was held over the four days.
